Former Cedar Creek star Collins drafted by 49ers

Former Cedar Creek football standout Alfred Collins was selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 43rd overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Collins played four seasons with the Eagles, where he emerged as one of the top defensive line prospects in the state before signing with the University of Texas at Austin.

At Texas, Collins spent five seasons with the Longhorns, finishing his college career with 253 total tackles, 74 tackles for loss and 18 sacks. He played a key role in helping Texas win a Big 12 championship and make back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances during the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons.

Now, Collins will look to make his mark at the next level as he joins one of the NFL’s top defenses in San Francisco.
