Wildcats stand ready to break from the team tunnel in a spirited moment captured by Elgin Independent School District Communications Coordinator Marcial Guajardo. The image — titled “One Heartbeat”— claimed gold at the 2025 Texas School Public Relations Association Star Awards last week, where the district’s communications and community engagement team earned honors for all four of its entries. Other winners included Guajardo’s “Wildcat Welcome” annual report and another sports photo, “Friday Night Sunlight,” while “Home On Main Street” brought home a silver award in the photo (other subjects) category. Elgin ISD competed in TSPRA’s under-15,000-students division, with entries created during the 2023–24 school year.
