Elgin’s struggles continued Tuesday night as the Wildcats suffered a 5-0 defeat against the East View Patriots, marking their sixth consecutive loss.

The result leaves Elgin without a win in district play, and the team has been shut out in five of its last six games.

East View asserted control early, piling on five goals — the most allowed by Elgin this season. Seniors Javier Torres scored two, while Hector Morales, Damien Cantu and Levi Zavala each contributed one.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, have managed only one goal in district action and were unable to generate scoring chances for the fourth straight match.

Elgin looks to regroup against Hendrickson Tuesday, Feb. 18, before hosting Weiss Friday, Feb. 21, at 7:15 p.m.

The Wildcats dropped their previous meeting with Weiss 3-0, Jan. 28.
