Lady Wildcats get swept in season finale

The Elgin Lady Wildcats fell in straight sets, 3-0, to the East View Patriots on Senior Night, Friday, Oct. 25, marking the final game of their season. The Lady Wildcats closed out the year on a 14game losing streak, having been swept in 12 of those matches.

Elgin started strong in the first set, holding a 10-10 tie with East View before the Patriots pulled away, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 15-4 to win the set 25-14. Struggles continued in the second set, with Elgin falling 25-12. The third set was the most competitive, as Elgin took an early 10-8 lead before East View surged ahead to win 25-17 and close out the match.

Sophomore set ter Kaitlyn Rodriguez and sophomore set te r/ libero Meta Elliot were standouts for the Lady Wildcats, each contributing multiple aces. Elgin finishes the season with a 6-27 overall record and a 0-12 record in district play, and they will look to rebuild and improve next season.
