BASTROP –– Police are investigating a double shooting in Fisherman’s Park that left a woman dead and a man clinging to life.
Investigators Monday remained tight-lipped about the case, but did say it is an isolated incident and added there is “no threat” to the public.
According to a social-media post, officers rushed to 1200 Willow St. at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, after receiving reports of two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
When police arrived, “One adult female with fatal injuries was located and one adult male with life-threatening injuries was on the scene.”
The man was taken by emergency medical services to an area hospital. His condition was not revealed by the authorities.
Identities will be released after relatives are notified, officers added.
Fisherman’s Park, located in a bend of the Colorado River, is a popular recreational destination spot.
