Former Bastrop mayor going up on wall

BASTROP — Former Mayor Lyle Nelson will be added to Bastrop’s Wall of Mayors in recognition of his two years of service. The display serves as a historical record of municipal leadership, according to a city officials, and Nelson’s portrait will continue the city’s tradition of honoring former mayors. Nelson resigned in January 2025 following a recall petition.
