With the conclusion of the UIL softball season over the weekend, the Elgin High School varsity softball team recently announced the 23-5A All-District team winners with plenty of Lady Wildcats represented.The highest honor for Elgin went to junior shortstop Jaylan Roberson, who was named the 23-5A District Defensive Most Valuable Player for the 2023 season. In addition to her reliability on defense, Roberson was a vital part of the Lady Wildcats’ success on offense as she batted .337 with 35 hits, a team-high 41 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, 22 runs batted in, and four home runs on the year.Elgin’s ...
