The Elgin High School varsity volleyball team had a pair of home 5A-District 23 matches this past week as the Lady Wildcats hosted Georgetown High School Oct. 10 and Cedar Creek High School last Friday night.Against a Georgetown Lady Eagles team that is the current top district seed with a ton of talent, the Lady Wildcats had trouble keeping up and fell in three straight sets 9-25, 7-25 and 6-25. Although Elgin lost, the Lady Wildcats continued to play hard and had a solid performance from freshman Meta Elliott with a teamhigh 14 digs, six serves received and two kills.
