Francisco Ernesto Morales passed away at the age of 69, Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born Nov. 7, 1953, the youngest child of Margarita Chavez Adame, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Ernesto had a long, successful career as a commercial drywall and framing specialist, where he worked for several Central Texas companies. Always the provider and hard worker, he worked as a part time handyman to those fortunate enough to have been passed his number. Ernesto enjoyed 10 years of well-deserved retirement, spending much of his time gardening and tending to his pets and livestock. It was not uncommon for him to share his bountiful harvests with friends and clients alike.

He was also a celebrated and amazing cook, who loved to express his passion and generosity through preparing meals to share with his family and friends. There were never recipes, but always incorporated love as his favorite ingredient.

Ernesto was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy came from being a father. He was always there to lend an ear and support their many endeavors. He was “Tio Neto” to many nieces and nephews. Ernesto never met a stranger and was a lifelong friend to many.

Ernesto’s chronic illnesses led to his sudden departure, which we will continue to struggle with, but we know he gave his all and it is time for him to rest. We will hold him close to our hearts always and know the love he gave us stays with us.

He is preceded in death by his mother, and sister, Emilia Adame.

Ernesto’s legacy will be cherished by his wife of 41 years, Yolanda Morales; his children, Martin Antonio, Armando Miguel and Mary Ashley; his sisters, Maria Elena Sanchez, Cointa Rivera Betancourt, Manuela Olivarez, Reynalda “Reyna” Lozano, Celia Chávez and Socorro “Coco” Ibarra; his two brothersin law, Arthur Cuellar Sr. and Patricio Sanchez Jr.; his sister-in-law, Beatrice Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Well done, Francisco Ernesto “Honey.” We wish you Godspeed on your new journey.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. ~ Psalm 37:23
