Bastrop PD investigates suspicious death

The Bastrop Police Department is investigating a suspicious death.

The deceased, a 57-year-old man, was discovered Thursday afternoon near Texas 95 in the Bastrop city limits. Identity of the deceased is pending notification of the next of kin.

Bastrop police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Texas 95 in Bastrop when the man's body was discovered. There is no threat to the public, according to the department.
