A former Bastrop postal worker was arrested last month for her role in a check forgery scheme, according to authorities.
Dominique Tamez was arrested Feb. 25 by deputies from the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office. She has been released from the Bastrop County Jail on an undisclosed bond amount.
According to the BCSO, the agency worked with the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service since July 2023 on this case. Tamez reportedly stole or forged $1.6 million in checks.
