CEDAR CREEK — The Cedar Creek Eagles varsity volleyball team enters the 2025-26 season aiming to take the next step after narrowly missing the playoffs a year ago.
The Eagles finished 8-7 in district play last season, placing fifth, and will have to replace a slew of veteran talent lost to graduation, including Mackenzie Collins, Gracie Hentschel and Gianna Del Bosque.
Head Coach Micah Valentine still returns a core of experienced players, led by senior setter Sophia Finke, senior hitter Eliana Garcia and senior middle blocker Mackenzy Roberts.
Cedar Creek’s non-district slate features some intriguing matchups. The team will travel Aug. 19 for a road contest at Georgetown Getaway Preparatory and Aug. 29 to meet Pflugerville Connally, split by a rivalry home match against Elgin Aug. 26.
The Eagles open the regular season at home Aug. 13 against Del Valle and will compete in the Austin Independent School District Jason Landers Tournament Aug. 14-16.
District competition begins Sept. 9 on the road against Crockett.
