Daniel Louis Nejtek

Daniel Louis Nejtek, 80, of Elgin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family early Sunday morning, March 5, 2023.

Daniel was born in Taylor to Lillie Martha and Joe Nejtek Sr. On Sept. 16, 1961, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Ann Hehman. The couple raised their family of four children in Webberville.

Daniel worked hard as a construction supervisor for many years until his retirement. He loved to barbeque and make barbecue pits, working outside in the garden or tending to the animals. He especially enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If he wasn’t outside or fixing something, you could expect to find him watching his Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; his four children, Glenn, Tammy, Tina and Lisa; his eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings; cousins; extended family; and dear friends.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at Elgin Funeral Home Saturday, March 11, from 1 until 2 p.m. A celebration of Daniel’s life will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Hans Lillejordpresiding. Interment will follow at Prince of Peace at Wuthrich Hill Cemetery.
