For the second weekend in a row, the Elgin Lady Cats were in softball tournament action as the season continues in full swing. Lady Cats softball finished 2-2 this past weekend at the Brenham tournament, coming away with wins over Conroe (4-2) and Navasota (10-2) and shutout losses to Oak Ridge (0-8) and Lake Creek (0-10). Against Conroe, Hailey Girod’s 4-for-4 performance helped push Elgin to the victory as she tallied a double, three singles, and two RBIs in the win over the Lady Tigers.
