The hot win streak continues for the Elgin Lady Cats softball team.

Elgin picked up their seventh straight win in a row last week with consecutive wins over Hendrickson and Cedar Creek. On Tuesday, the Lady Cats took down the Lady Hawks 16-1 and followed that up on Thursday with an 11-1 win over the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Cats used a seven-run second and an eight-run fourth to close the game out against Hendrickson.

Hannah Reiley capped things off with her three-run blast in the bottom of the Elgin fourth to close out the game. She went 3-for-4, falling a triple short of the cycle, and also collected six RBI’s in the game.

Kelsea Calhoun had the big bat against Cedar Creek with a 4-for-4 perfect night with a triple, double and a pair of singles.

Morgan Heine had a long ball shot in the first inning to give Elgin a 3-1 lead.

In the second inning, three more runs would come across for the Lady Cats via Calhoun and Hailey Girod pushing the lead to 6-1.

Cassidy Davis, Paiton Altmiller and Jaylan Roberson all would score in the Elgin fourth to make it a 9-1 game.

Run number 10 came in the bottom of the fourth when Bella Ramirez came in on an error by the first baseman.

A groundball error by the shortstop put Roberson on in the fifth, and a line drive triple by Calhoun gave the Lady Cats the 10-run lead and the game.

Elgin’s record moved to 13-10 and were in Pflugerville last night.
