Lady Cats Soccer defeats Bastrop at home, sort of

On Tuesday, February 18, the Lady Cats varsity soccer team defeated Bastrop 2-1 at Bastrop Memorial Stadium. They normally play at the Bastrop High School stadium but had to relocate last minute because of an incident with the sprinkler system, according to Elgin coach Taylor Cansler. Senior Tania Flores scored first and was assisted by sophomore Jasmin Estrada. Senior Jill Sides scored Elgin’s second with a free kick from a whopping 45 yards out in the second half.
