This year, the Elgin girls’ varsity basketball team was led by new coach Pat Roberts. One thing you notice right away about Coach Roberts is his finger: more specifically, the Basketball State Championship ring he wears on that finger. During the 2008-2009 high school basketball season, he was assistant coach on the Hays basketball team that went all the way to state and took top honors.
