Lady Cats fall to Badgers, Rebels over Thanksgiving

It was a disappointing week for the Lady Cats basketball team with losses to the Lampasas Badgers on Monday and the Lady Rebels of Hays on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Lady Badgers defeated the Lady Cats 73-45. Elgin struggled in the first quarter and allowed Lampasas to outscore them by 25 points, but looked better in the second, holding Lampasas to only a four-point score increase. In the third quarter, the Lady Badgers rallied and outscored the Lady Cats again and was leading 49-27. Despite an offensive push, the Lady Cats could not close the gap in the Lampasas lead, losing with a final score of 73-45. Alyssa Broderick, #1, was the high scorer of the game with 30 points.

The Lady Cats fared better in Tuesday’s game against the Hays Rebels, but still were defeated 51-32.

Elgin faced face the Ladyhorns in Schulenburg on Tuesday night with an 0-9 overall record.
