Strangely enough, I want to start this article by congratulating the Bastrop Lady Bears for their performance on Thursday night against the Lady Cats of Elgin. Elgin is a better team—arguably, a much better team—but the Lady Bears were not intimidated and did not take a back seat to the home team. Bastrop’s Rodriguez, #9, pitched a strong and aggressive game and the rest of the team played just as hard.
