Elgin High School’s boys’ tennis club put forth a strong showing on Friday, Feb. 18, both on the singles and doubles side of the Weiss varsity tennis tournament.Senior Wyatt Fisher made a run to the semifinals in the singles bracket, picking up an opening round victory against Hendrickson’s Ruark Lagtapon, before taking an 8-4 decision over Weiss’ Josh Veiga in a gentlemanly second-round showdown.The second-round match was very much in the balance midway through, with Fisher possessing a one-game advantage at a 5-4 score.Fisher would zone in at that point, and subsequently turn on the afterburners to win three consecutive ...
