Last Wednesday and Thursday, Elgin and Smithville joined six other schools in the revival of the Cotton Boll Relays in Taylor. The event was once a big staple in eastern Williamson County until it fell dormant in the early 90’s.
The junior varsity squads performed on Wednesday, March 10, and the varsity athletes closed out the events on Thursday, March 11.
In varsity team competition the Elgin boys finished fifth overall out of eight schools with a score of 68 and the Smithville boys finished fourth with a score of 96.
