At a frigid Lockhart Baseball Field last Thursday, Feb. 24, the Bastrop baseball club collected an 11-2 win against Crockett High School, in what was the first game of the Lockhart Varsity Baseball Tournament.It could not have been easy to throw in such cold conditions: the backstop would routinely rain down sheets of ice when struck with foul balls, as first-pitch temperatures sat near 32 degrees.
