Nell Lind

Nell Lind passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. Nell lived her life according to her Christian beliefs with love and kindness, always trying to help others.

Nell was born Ernest Nell Griffin on July 15, 1935, in Killeen, Texas, the oldest of four children of Vernon and Jessie Griffin.  She had two sisters ,Verna and Sylvia, and one brother,Elmer.  Nell lived with her family at Ft. Hood during the war and in a number of towns in south-central Texas between 1945 and 1952.

Nell moved with her family to Elgin, Texas in 1952 for her senior year in high school where she met her future husband Dwight Lind.  They married on June 5, 1955 in Austin, Texas and had three children – Bradley, Gregory, and Beverly.  The family moved to Dallas during the summer of 1964 after Dwight finished medical school in Galveston.

Nell found a second home at Kessler Park United Methodist Church where she was an active  member for over 55 years.  Nell was also a teacher and administrator at the Kessler School for over 25 years teaching numerous children and some of those children’s children.

Nell is survived by her husband Dr Dwight Lind, her sister Sylvia, her three children, two daughters-in-law,Tammy Lind and Christy Camp, her son-in-law Dr. Ky Burden, four grandchildren,Leon, Ryan, Elliott, and Miles, and a multitude of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu or flowers, donations can be made to Kessler Park United Methodist Church Parents Day Out Program.

The Memorial Service will be held at Kessler Park Untied Methodist Church on Saturday, February 12, at 11:00
