James McCutcheon was born on August 12, 1942 and peacefully passed away on March 20, 2022 after a 16-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by parents A.J. & Rebecca McCutcheon, brother Jay and son Randy. He is survived by daughter Kimberly (husband Darrell). Jim graduated from McCallum High School in 1960. During his career, he was involved in all aspects of real estate and was a mortgage banker until retirement. Recently, Jim worked part-time at HEB until his health declined. Major thanks to Texas Oncology (especially Dr. Helmer, retired), St. Gabriel’s Hospice (thank you Veronica!!) and Dad’s managers/co-workers at HEB in Elgin. The support, kindness, generosity, understanding and caring from his HEB “work family” was greatly appreciated. There are so many angels that were so good to my father that we want to mention by name including: Bobby Barnett, Ivan & Kay Wilson, Mollie, Janel, Susan & Linn, Pam, Chester, Bruce, members of United Methodist Church in Elgin and St. John’s Methodist Church in Austin. Your prayers, constant support and kindness meant everything. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 216 West 3rd Street, Elgin, Texas on April 11th at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First United Methodist Church in Elgin. In his memory, Jim desires that you take a Republican to vote!!
