City officials and staff celebrated the start of construction on the first phase of the County Line Road widening project with a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, August 9. The first phase of the road improvement project begins north of FM 1100; right now, County Line Road from Carlson Lane to Harvest Ridge Boulevard is temporarily closed. This phase of the project is expected for completion at the end of November, after which work will proceed to the south end of County Line Road up to U.S. Highway 290 and the section around the intersection with FM 1100.
