Residents in southeast Elgin have a chance to meet their city leaders Wednesday.On Oct. 26, Elgin’s municipal government will host a Ward 1 meeting at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 701 South Main St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Ward representatives on the City Council and Mayor Theresa McShan will be in attendance.Councilmembers Arthur Gibson and Joy Casnovsky have represented the ward since 2021 and 2022, respectively. McShan was elected mayor this past May.During her election bid to the council this year, Casnovsky commented on the concept of ward meetings and their pause in scheduling.“One of my goals for being on City Council is to be accessible to Ward 1 residents,”
