Two appointed members join city council

Two new members—Thomas Ibis and Alvis Prince—were appointed to the Elgin City Council on January 5 to fill the two Ward 3 vacancies until the May election. The two new members participated in their first meeting on January 18. Last year, former Ward 3 council member Daniel Lopez did not run for re-election, and no one applied to be a candidate in the election for that position.
