Traffic stop turns up drugs

The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) seized over $100,000 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop in Bastrop last month. On Friday, July 26, a BCSO deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on State Highway 71 near the intersection with State Highway 304, in Bastrop city limits, according to a post on the BCSO Face-book page. The driver was identified as Maximino Majano-Martinez. After speaking with Majano-Martinez, the deputy observed indicators consistent with criminal activity, and a K-9 unit was called to the scene. The dog gave a positive indication for the odor of illegal narcotics,
