A retired state trooper suspected of fatally shooting his wife and her friend before a deputy killed him in a front-yard standoff never showed any outward signs of violence, a stunned neighbor said.Former Department of Public Safety Sgt. Rito Paul Morales, 51, of Elgin was pronounced dead at the scene Sept. 17 in the 100 block of Bexar Forest Cove after a confrontation with officers, officials said. Kristin Morales and Randi Mitchell were also named among the deceased, investigators said.
