Christmas partygoers were effectively Santa Claus for local outdoor, furry friends.The Elgin office of Edward Jones, a financial advisor firm, asked clients who planned to attend their Christmas party at the local SPJST hall Dec. 15 to bring items to support Austin Wildlife Rescue. The response filled more than staff’s hearts with holiday spirit.“They were so supportive and brought enough items to fill up my mid-size SUV,” said Stephanie Wood, senior branch office administrator at the Jay Sutton office. “I dropped off the items and the volunteers, program director was thrilled with all the donations.Wood brought the items to the Austin Wildlife Rescue’s Corgan Center in Elgin.
