The process of restoring the Three Oaks Mine site has hit a milestone. During the Bastrop County Commissioners Court meeting on January 27, County Judge Paul Pape presented a letter to the court from Luminant Mining Company. The letter notified the county that Luminant Mining has applied to the Railroad Commission of Texas to be released from some of their obligations regarding mining operations in Bastrop and Lee counties.
