Freezing temperatures could lead up to Christmas next weekend.On Monday, Dec. 12, the National Weather Service predicted central Texas to have a 70-80% chance of below normal temperatures late next week. Local highs are already likely to drop from Monday’s mid 70s to around 50-55 degrees this Saturday, Dec. 17.“Cooler temperatures are in store for the continental U.S.,” said the NWS Austin/San Antonio Office on its Twitter feed. “Confidence is increasing in below normal temps especially in the Dec. 20-26 period. It’s too early to say just how cold, but this time period could bring the first freeze of the season to some of our region.”Accuweather’s extended forecast predicts lows ...
