A locally renowned author has a new book on local history coming out.“Notes & Recollections,” by Charlene Hanson Jordan, will be available for purchase at the Elgin Depot Museum Friday, Dec. 16. The volume tells the story about the vanished plantation at Post Oak Island and about Elgin itself.Jordan is a Texan author of Swedish descent. She has traveled and still loves to do so to her ancestral home and Germany. She speaks Swedish and German and is said to be a natural researcher, especially for historicaly significant stories.
