Elgin Swedes plan annual celebration

The Elgin Swedish Association is set to have their 77th annual Midsummer reunion June 22 at the SPJST Hall in Elgin, with traditional music acts, vendors and dances celebrating the heritage of Sweden.Starting at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, the event will host Swedish stores and a bakery where attendees can purchase traditional desserts to go along with their steak dinner, as well as hand crafted holiday items. Lori Brooke, a Swedish singer, accordionist and yodeler, will be the featured musical showcase.
