County tables action on Boring Company permit

After nearby residents raised concerns about the next phase of construction at an industrial facility in rural Bastrop County, the Bastrop County Commissioners Court decided to delay approving its conditional development permit until more questions are answered.The property at 130 Walker Watson Road, just off of FM 1209 northwest of Bastrop, belongs to The Boring Company, a tunnel construction company founded by Elon Musk. The company applied for a conditional development permit to build a 80,000-square-foot commercial warehouse and manufacturing facility, which was on the agenda for the regular meeting of the Bastrop County Commissioners Court on Monday, February 28.
