City declares Elgin Teachers’ Day

Elgin teachers had their day to shine earlier this month.On Sept. 27, the Elgin City Council presented a proclamation announcing Oct. 5 as Elgin Teachers’ Day in the city. Superintendent Jana Reuter, Elgin Independent School District,accepted the decree.“The Elgin City Council joins #TeachersCan and its partnering entities across Texas in celebrating World Teachers’ Day,” said Mayor Theresa McShan. “The Elgin City Council encourages members of our community to ‘be a light for Elgin teachers.’”#TeachersCan is a statewide movement supported by more than 125 partnering businesses and organizations committed to elevating the teaching profession and honoring the critical role teachers play in the success of Texas.“Our Elgin ISD teachers have ...
