Nursing home seeks ministries to bring music

Posted in:

Some Elgin residents who aren’t able to travel very far hope local churches might help raise your spirit with songs.

The Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Resident Council invites local pastors and their friends to bring their music ministries to their facility. They suggest the ministry members could visit after Sunday services or at any other time that would be convenient.

“We are looking to ease the depression, loneliness and feelings of disconnect we are current experiencing here at ENRC,” said Frederick Malone and Lorie Hill, ENRC Resident Council president and vice president, in a press release. “Although some of us are hanging on to our faith, others have given up, and the suffering is real.”

Any area pastors or ministries who would like to volunteer to join ENRC’s residents on Sundays or any other day occasionally can contact Malone at 512-709-1959.
