Boil water notice ends for Elgin

Posted in:

After completing the required water quality sampling in compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, City of Elgin determined that the Boil Water Notice can be removed immediately. While the notice has been lifted, we recommend that customers throw out any ice made during the Boil Water Notice and prior to initial use, run kitchen sink or other drinking water dispensing source for 60 seconds prior to use.

The water system is NOT at full capacity – if levels reduce significantly a Boil Water Notice could be reinstated. Please continue to CONSERVE water use and Check for Leaks. If you don’t have water service and or good pressure – you probably have a leak – Look for leaks. Take Action Immediately – leaks negatively impact the overall system. Turn off leaks at the source or call for turn off at the meter, see a leak in street report: 512-661-8585 email . Conserve water minimize use of large appliances, do not TEST or run irrigation systems, do not wash vehicles or power wash driveways and sidewalks to support the system continuing to fill and pressure stabilization.
