Holiday spirit permeates downtown Elgin

​Downtown Elgin’s monthly Sip, Shop & Stroll event featured a holiday-themed twist last Thursday. ​The combination of Christmas music, art, sweaters and lights signaled a town full of festive Elginites.​The Clever Tiger held an art exhibition consisting of various paintings inspired by winter weather and other seasonal elements. Local artists were able to showcase their work at the downtown studio.​Santa Sightings took place at the Chemn Cafe, ETX Travel and G&M Drygoods, allowing kids to reveal their official wishlists.​Additionally, the Elgin Courier and Veterans Memorial Park hosted musical performances. ​Throughout town, locals could be seen donning their favorite Christmas attire while shopping ...
