Elgin choir serenades with holiday classics

Elgin’s high school and middle school choir groups delivered festive performances to the Elgin Courier last Thursday as part of downtown’s Sip, Shop & Stroll activities.​The vocalists sang holiday classics like Deck the Halls, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Hark the Herald Angel Sing for a packed out audience.​Choir director Cherisa Cromer was delighted that she and her pupils could help ignite some holiday spirit in the community.​“I think choir is the perfect venue for Christmas music,” Cromer said. “There’s something nostalgic about singing Christmas carols… and my favorite way to do it is out with people and ...
