In 2002, the Elgin Depot Museum proudly opened its doors to the community to begin the collections that depict Elgin's rich history. Twenty years later, the museum will celebrate with birthday cake until it's all gone. A joyous occasion, not without hard times, the Elgin Historical Association wants to thank so many new residents who love the museum, and the scores of long-time leaders and descendants who have told the stories of early Elgin. The museum is the soul of the city.Everyone is invited from noon to 4 p.m. on June 11. Be sure to go downtown for the Juneteenth Parade, which will begin at ...
