The 74th annual Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo was back on track after a year‘s absence due to COVID-19.
The event, which began in 1947, is the oldest annual event in Bastrop County. It was created as a way of attracting and bringing back home the almost 100,000 soldiers who were enlisted at Camp Swift during World War II. Since that time, it has become a big event drawing several hundred people into town each day for events such as a parade, rodeo competitions, tournaments, dances and numerous class and family reunions.
