Elgin High School’s varsity baseball team was set to get its exhibition season underway with a Saturday, Feb. 5 road trip to Cedar Ridge, but the scrimmage was canceled because of snow, icy conditions and freezing temperatures sweeping across the region late in the week.The JV’s home scrimmage against Cedar Ridge had to be called off as well.Focus now shifts to a Feb. 12 date with Harker Heights, as the purple and white teams hit the road, and varsity prepares for its first game action Saturday versus a 6A Knights program that finished second within its district a season ago.“We ...
