At the end of last month, as Elgin began adjusting to the COVID-19 pandemic, the community turned out to give a total of 40 units of blood during two highly-successful blood drives. As a result of the response to the first blood drive on March 25 at the Fleming Community Center, a second blood drive on March 30 with a mobile unit was brought to Elgin. Both drives had fully-booked appointments.
