A nine-run opening inning sealed the win for the Smithville Tigers as they defeated Manor New Tech with ease 17-2. The Tigers had already established a 4-0 lead by the time the first out happened. The first three hits from the Tigers were three-quarters of the cycle. A double by Kyle Pietsch and a single by Reid Pruitt, was followed by a triple that scored both of them by Gabriel Maldonado, who accounted for five RBIs in the game. An error by the second baseman brought Maldonado home to put the Tigers up 3-0 early. Wyatt Smith walked and Wyatt Glidwell singled.
