The Smithville High School varsity baseball team was knocked out of the 2022 UIL 4A State Championships last Friday night, after losing an 11-3 road decision to the Taylor Ducks during a bi-district round, one game playoff.The matchup offered plenty of intrigue, with Smithville having been eliminated from the state playoffs by these same Taylor Ducks in the bi-district round of last year’s tournament.
