The Elgin cross country team sent four boys to participate in a large meet in Temple on Friday, October 9. The meet included traditionally strong teams such as Lake Travis, Round Rock, A&M Consolidated, Bryan and many others.
Wildcat Senior Mario Ruiz continued his dominant runs and came in first place with a time of 16 minutes, 6 seconds. In a strong showing, Luis Araujo Reyes finished sixth with a time of 17 minutes, 16 seconds. Fellow Wildcats Jaxon Larson in 12th place and Lane Eckert in 42nd place finished out the team scoring.
Elgin will participate in the cross country meet in Bastrop on October 21 before heading to the district meet in Pflugerville on October 30.
