The Elgin Wildcats have enjoyed an unprecedented turnaround in 2022 after going winless the previous season.​One of the biggest reasons for their 7-2 record and first playoff berth since 2014 has been the stellar play of the Wildcat defense.​Defensive coordinator Clay Ferguson saw this group's potential dating back to spring practice.
