Hotel did not offer refund after cancelling due to COVID-19

My wife and I had business in Elgin, Texas. We called and made reservations at a hotel. The next day, we were exposed to COVID-19. To do the correct thing and self-isolate, at least until we could get tested, we cancelled our trip. We called to cancel the reservations and were told that we would not get our money back because it was a non-refundable reservation. We explained the reason and that we were following the guidelines of the CDC. We did not want to expose any of her staff or customers to COVID-19, nor any else along the trip. The manager of the hotel told us that "I don't care, our policy stands and you will not get the money back!" We were going to reschedule because we still have business there. There is no way we will stay there. I would not recommend them to anybody I know. This is the most inconsiderate, uncooperative, and greedy company I have dealt with. Please take note and let others know how they do business and beware if they stay there. That they are not being safe when it comes to their employees or public safety, and "they don't care!"
