I wanted to send a note to someone at the newspaper to commend a couple of businesses in Elgin who were such kind and professional representatives of your city during a very difficult time when we recently visited.
My brother lost his 33-year old son in a traumatic and untimely death in January. We came down from the DFW area to be with him and to assist in decisions he needed to make. We called the Elgin Funeral Home and Josh Hausladen began, with great genuine compassion, to assist us with the immediate plans we would need to make. He was never a pushy salesman, but simply laid out very reasonable choices for us.
Throughout the entire time, up to and including the funeral, Josh was with us the whole way, as if he were a family member himself. We cannot say enough about what it meant to our family to have Josh walking us through our dark valley.
After the funeral, our family and friends were able to all eat together at the Southside Market & Barbeque. There was adequate room, with no reservations needed. The servers and the food were first class.
Elgin can be very proud of these businesses who acted like family. They represented your city well. Linda Wise Burleson, Texas
